WHO WE ARE

We operate the world’s largest integrated bauxite mining, alumina refining and aluminium smelting system. Alcoa of Australia has been investing in Australia for 53 years. The company’s investment to date is greater than $12 billion.

The Kwinana, Pinjarra and Wagerup alumina refineries in Western Australia produce approximately 8% of total world alumina demand. The Alcoa operated Portland Alumina Smelter in Victoria produces approximately 20% of Australia’s aluminium.

Alcoa of Australia is 60% owned by Alcoa Inc. and 40% owned by Alumina Limited.

Each year, more than 75% of total revenue stays in Australia through wages, local purchasing, taxes, capital investment and dividends.

Alcoa invests more than $3 million in community partnerships each year. Investments are driven by sustainable development and a desire to support reputable not-for-profit and community-based organisations in the locations where we operate.
