LINK is our LGBTI Network at KWM. Since it’s formation in early 2016 we have put in place an active LINK Working Group, a 3 year LINK Business Plan and a series of interventions to advance LGBTI inclusion internally and with our clients and community partners.

Our LINK Working Group is lead by Partners, one of whom is Peta Stevenson. Peta explains her commitment to being an Ally:

One of the fundamental reasons I became a lawyer is because I believe in the importance of equality, fairness, acceptance and mutual respect for all people. Being an Ally is consistent with these values. I am intent on helping to make LGBTI people at KWM feel comfortable and safe in their work environment, as we all should. We can each make a difference as an LGBTI ally and friend, whether this is achieved by:

  • Simply being open minded and confronting our own prejudices
  • Sending gentle signals to show your acceptance and support
  • Making clear you have an open door, and a willingness to listen and to talk, or;
  • Actively confronting prejudice and discrimination”.

Being an Ally enables me to show my support for diversity and inclusion at KWM and take positive action to support colleagues.”
