BENEFITS

As well as an exciting and inclusive culture, the department offers employees a comprehensive range of benefits under our Enterprise Agreement.

AGD has an active LGBTI Network for employees who identify as LGBTI and their supporters. The Network is led by employees and is strongly supported by the Corporate Division, executive leaders and the broad staff base. Our LGBTI Champion is a visible supporter of LGBTI employees within the department. We’re a proud member of Pride in Diversity and work to support the visibility and representation of the LGBTI people within the department and the boarder community.

Renaye Watchirs, Policy Officer and Chair of AGD LGBTI network

I am a Policy Officer in the Native Title Unit and current chair of the AGD LGBTI network. Visibility and support in an organisation are big things for me and is something that the LGBTI network and all the employee networks aim to bring to the department. AGD works on such a broad range of areas, meaning we attract a really diverse range of people. Our culture is one where we embrace and celebrate difference. This makes it a lot easier to bring my whole self to work, to have the ability to join with colleagues talking about our weekends and know that I don’t have to hide who I am. Knowing that employees are valued for their work and their unique experience is really rewarding and makes AGD a really awesome and inclusive place to work.
