The Bureau is Australia’s national weather, climate and water information agency, and one of the few organisations that touches the lives of all Australians, every day.

We make a significant contribution to Australia’s economic prosperity, public safety and community well-being. We are proud of our heritage, who we are, what we do and where we are headed. Our determination, resilience and deep commitment to our nation’s well-being underpin everything that we do.

Our products and services include observations, forecasts, warnings, analysis and advice covering Australia’s atmosphere, water, oceans and space environments. We also undertake scientific research in support of our operations and services.

Our expertise and services help Australians deal with the harsh realities of their natural environment, including droughts, floods, fires, storms, tsunami and tropical cyclones. As such we provide one of the most widely used government services.
