nbn has a large and active LGBTQ network (nbn Pride) with over 1200 members. Pride is run by a passionate and dedicated volunteer committee comprised of a combination of those who identify as LGBTI and allies. Their goal is to create a safe workplace which connects, celebrates and supports the diversity and inclusion of our LGBTQ employees and their allies, and of the broader LGBTQ community and they work collaboratively with our other diversity network groups (for example on First Peoples, Accessibility and Cultural Identity) to recognise intersectionality and promote a total culture of inclusion at nbn.

The Pride group has the utmost support of the Executive as a whole, including through our highly visible Eexcutive Sponsor., and we haven taken part annually in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) for the last 3 years, currently holding Bronze status. Examples of recent activity in this space include a recently held online event in support of Transgender Day of Remembrance and introducing 20 days of Gender Affirmation Leave as a provision within our existing Gender Affirmation Policy.
