I am proud that Vanguard is committed to diversity and I value coming to work at a place where I feel safe, included, and where individuality and inclusion is celebrated and encouraged. As a member of the working group for OPEN, our LGBTI network, I work within the education stream which has rolled out foundational training to our executives, members, and allies within the organisation. The LGBTI community itself is quite diverse and this type of training has highlighted this, and the importance and benefits of embracing diversity not only at work but in everyday life. Through this training, I realised I have a lot to learn about my own community and I’m sure others found it just as helpful. I have worked at Vanguard for 17 years and have had six different roles during that time. I am grateful I have been able to have a career in a company that values both its clients and the diversity of its people. By Vanguard embracing the LGBTI community and allies, we are sending out positive messages that diversity is important for the growth of the business, and for each and every one of our employees.
